Health workers begin strike ballot over HSE staff cuts

The IMPACT trade union is balloting more than 25,000 health workers for industrial action over planned staff cuts in the health service.

The union says the National Employment Monitoring Unit set up by the Health Service Executive is denying local management any authority to replace staff who resign or take maternity leave.
