Man dies after crashing into fence

A motorist died tonight when his four-wheel-drive collided with a fence.

Gardaí in Co Monaghan are investigating the single vehicle fatal accident which happened at 6.15pm at Golan, Tydavnet.

The remains of the victim, who is in his 40s, have been removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda.

The man’s name has not yet been released by officers.
