€1.5m to be spent on new study into MRSA-type infections

A team of researchers has been given a €1.5m grant to investigate hospital superbugs like MRSA and how to tackle them.

Hospital-acquired infections, which are often resistant to ordinary antibiotics, are becoming an increasing problem in the Irish healthcare system.
