Search for Honeydew II continues amid poor conditions
Efforts to locate the wreck of the Honeydew II are continuing amid adverse conditions off the coast of Co Waterford today.
Two crewmen are still missing following the sinking of the vessel near Mine Head last Thursday morning.
Debris from the trawler has been washing ashore for the past number of days, but the exact location of the sinking has still not been identified.
Meanwhile, diving operations on the wreck of the Pere Charles were suspended off the Co Wexford coast yesterday due to stormy conditions and are not expected to resume until the weekend at the earliest.
Divers were hoping to be able to enter the vessel to search for the bodies of its five crewmen, but the operation was called off for safety reasons due to strong currents
A third tragedy was averted last night, when two men were rescued by the Coastguard after their trawler began taking-in water six miles east of Tuskar Rock off Wexford.
The crew of The Renegade, which had been taking part in the search for the Honeydew II, managed to board their life raft before being winched to safety by a rescue helicopter.
