Search resumes for missing crewmen

A shoreline search for two crewmen missing from one of the trawlers that sank off the Irish coast resumed today.

Efforts to find the skipper of the Honey Dew II Ger Bohan and his Polish crewmate Tomasz Jagla at sea will be led by Naval vessel LE Eithne later in the day.

Its last location was off Mine Head, Co Waterford.

Meanwhile, Navy and Garda divers will remain on standby to search the wreck of the first trawler to go down, the Pere Charles. It is lying in about 30m of water two miles south of Hook Head, Co Wexford.

Strong winds and severe swells at sea hampered attempts to get down to the boat yesterday and it is likely the first weather window of opportunity will be tomorrow morning.

It is believed the bodies of the five crewmen are on board.
