Axa in talks about taking over BUPA’s Irish operation
The Axa insurance firm is reportedly in talks with the Government about the possibility of taking over BUPA's Irish operations.
BUPA announced last year that it would be pulling out of the Irish health insurance market due to the introduction of so-called risk equalisation.
Reports this morning say senior Axa officials are due to meet Ms Harney today to discuss the possibility of taking on BUPA's clients, liabilities and employees.
The company already provides motor insurance in Ireland and offers health insurance in some other countries.
