Lack of trained doctors blamed for many stroke deaths

Up to 1,000 people are reportedly dying from strokes every year because of a lack of consultants to administer life-saving treatments.

Reports this morning say a new emergency medication that can save many stroke victims is not available in Irish hospitals because only three consultants are qualified to administer it.
