Majella Holohan claims justice system failed her family

The mother of Cork schoolboy Robert Holohan said today that she feels the judicial system failed her family.

Speaking after the second anniversary Mass for Robert in Midleton, Majella Holohan said victims need to have more of a voice to make the system fairer.

Mrs Holohan said she believed it was time for the Minister for Justice Michael McDowell to introduce "hard law" to deal with serious crime.

The Holohan's neighbour Wayne O'Donoghue is currently serving a four year manslaughter sentence for the killing.

Mrs Holohan said she doesn't think that she and her family will ever recover from the death of her son.
