The Progressive Democrats have refused to rule out a coalition with Fine Gael after the next general election.

PDs president Tom Parlon has said there was scope for compromise between the parties, although FG leader Enda Kenny has stated that the PDs will be "completely irrelevant" to the formation of any future coalition.
