A man sustained serious stab wounds during an assault at a New Year's party early today in north Belfast.

A man sustained serious stab wounds during an assault at a New Year's party early today in north Belfast.

Police were called to Torrens Drive around 2am following the attack.

The assailant fled on foot and was wearing a duffel jacket and black scarf.

A teenage boy was also stabbed in the head at a New Year's party in Dunmurry.

The boy was in a serious but not life-threatening condition in hospital after the incident in a house in Aspen Park at around 4.30am.

Four people were arrested.

A man was also assaulted at a house in Graymount Crescent at around 6am in north Belfast.

Police said he had sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.
