Two hospitalised after currach overturns
Two people are receiving hospital treatment this afternoon after getting into difficulty in bad weather conditions off Inish Turk in Co Galway.
A currach carrying eight people is understood to have overturned on the south side of the island, west of Clifden, just before midday.
A rescue operation was launched by Malin Head Coastguard and four people were rescued from the sea by Cliften Lifeboat, while four others managed to make it to shore.
Two of those on board the currach were taken to hospital suffering from severe hypothermia.
