Gardaí appeal for witnesses in gangland shooting
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the latest gangland shooting in Dublin's north inner city.
It happened just after midnight close to the Financial Services Centre in the capital.
The body is being removed from the scene, and a murder investigation has been launched.
At about twenty minutes past midnight, a person or persons entered the house on Oriel Street Upper through the unlocked front door.
They entered a downstairs room where the victim was, and shot him in the head.
A number of other people were in the house at the time and neighbours were alerted by the arrival of the emergency services.
Members of the Garda Technical Bureau arrived earlier at the scene in Oriel Street, and the State Pathologist has been notified.
It's the sixth fatal shooting in Dublin so far this month.
