FG TD claims law and order has 'totally broken down'

Fine Gael TD Jim O'Keefe has claimed law and order has "totally broken down" due to the Government's failed policies for tackling crime.

Mr O'Keefe was responding to the murder of a 25-year-old man in Dublin's latest gangland shooting last night.

The victim was the twenty-fourth person shot dead in Ireland so far this year.

Mr O'Keefe, who is Fine Gael's justice spokesman, says the Government's crime policies have obviously failed and there needs to be a "full, strategic response" to crack down on criminal gangs.
