Oil industry welcomes abolition of kerosene excise duty

The Oil Promotion Federation of Ireland (OPFI) has welcomed today's Budget 2007 decision to abolish the excise duty on kerosene (fuel used for home heating).

The Minister had introduced a 50% cut in the rate last year and promised the removal of the tax in Budget 2007.
