Security man beaten during armed raid

A security man is recovering in hospital after being beaten during a botched raid on a cash-in-transit van in Co Kildare this morning.

Two armed men approached the van at a shopping centre in Maynooth and brandished their weapons at security staff before attempting to grab cash.
