Man found seriously injured at side of road

Gardaí in Mitchelstown have appealed for witnesses after a man was found seriously injured on the side of a road.

The man was found on the Mitchelstown by-pass on the main Cork-to-Dublin road at around 4am today.

The man has been removed to Cork University Hospital for treatment.

Gardaí have appealed for people who may have travelled the route between 3.30am and 4.30am, and who may have seen anything suspicious, to contact them.
