Gardaí express concerns at 'tiger' kidnappings
Gardaí have warned those working in financial institutions, post offices and supermarkets to be vigilant in the run-up to Christmas.
The warning comes in the wake of three abductions this week alone in Dublin, suspected to be tiger kidnappings.
Gardaí say they are concerned about the apparent copycat nature of the crime.
They say this will be taken into account when additional garda operations are put in place for the Christmas period.
On Monday, An Post will meet with members of the Irish Postmasters' Union to discuss what extra security measures can be taken to protect postal workers.
