Man charged with woman's murder in Antrim

A 49-year-old man was charged last night with the murder of a woman in the North who was strangled and whose body was dumped in a car park.

The man will appear before magistrates in Larne, Co Antrim today charged with the murder of 24-year-old Shirley Finlay in Ballymena.

Police said he would also face a number of additional charges not related to the murder.

Miss Finlay, from Crebilly Road in the town, was murdered in September, just days before her twenty-fifth birthday.

Her body was found in a car park in Ballymena wrapped in a duvet.
