Six people are being questioned by Gardaí in Limerick following two gun-related incidents in the city.

Six people are being questioned by Gardaí in Limerick following two gun-related incidents in the city.

Four young men were arrested last night, and following further investigations a woman and a man were detained today.

Nobody was hurt during the incidents.

The first incident happened shortly after 10pm last night when a car with four youths pulled up at John Carew Park, Ashe Avenue, they took out a firearm and pointed it in the direction of another man, but no shots were fired.

They then headed in the direction of Childers Road where shots were fired but no-one was injured.

Roxboro Gardaí pursued the car and shopped it arresting the four young men, and recovering the firearm.

The youths are still being held at Roxboro Road and Henry Street Garda stations this evening.

Following further investigations today Gardaí arrested a 37-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man in the Limerick area. They are being held at Roxboro Garda Station.
