Cowen attacks opposition on economic front

The Minister for Finance Brian Cowen is calling on Fine Gael and Labour to put up or shut up when it comes to preaching on the economy.

Speaking at the Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis, in Citywest Dublin, he asked how they can claim to be worthy protectors of Irish prosperity when they have opposed every single economic reform and tax cut introduced by this Government.

Minister Cowen said that the main opposition parties believe in borrowing to fix problems but ultimately that results in extra taxation.
