Ahern says he understands drift-netting ban concerns

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has said he understands the concerns of Junior Minister Pat 'the Cope' Gallagher about the planned ban on drift-netting for salmon.

Mr Gallagher and a number of other TDs representing coastal communities have expressed reservations about the ban.
