Union announces dates for BoI strike
The Amicus trade union has announced details of the industrial action it plans to take over the pensions row at Bank of Ireland.
Around 500 members of the union are planning to go on strike on November 15 and 22 and place pickets outside a number of the bank's outlets in Dublin.
The action is being arranged to protest at the introduction of a different pension scheme for new staff members.
Unions say the new arrangements are weaker than the existing defined benefit pension scheme and will create a two-tier system.
The Irish Bank Officials Association, which represents around 8,000 Bank of Ireland workers, has decided to hold off on strike action pending a Labour Court hearing into the situation.
