Turkey’s EU negotiator to address Forum on Europe in Dublin

Turkey's chief negotiator with the EU is due to address the Forum on Europe in Dublin today to put forward his country's case for membership.

Many of the existing member states are unconvinced about the country's accession given its size and its mainly Islamic population.

Today's address by Ali Babacan comes ahead of the publication next week of the European Commission's latest report on Turkey's progress in implementing reforms demanded by the EU.
