Domestic violence helpline unable to answer 10,000 phone calls

Over 10,000 phone calls to a domestic violence helpline went unanswered last year, shock new figures revealed today.

Women’s Aid director Margaret Martin urged the Government to provide additional funding stating it was unacceptable that some distressed people’s pleas for help were going unanswered.
