SVP seeks proactive Budget measures to help tackle poverty

The Society of St Vincent de Paul is calling on the Government to be more proactive in tackling poverty in this December's budget.

In its pre-budget submission, the charity is urging the Minister for Finance Brian Cowen to follow up on a number of initiatives set up last year to help low-income families.
