Up to 5,000 people are expected to attend the Green Party’s Green Energy Fair in Co Kilkenny this weekend.

Up to 5,000 people are expected to attend the Green Party’s Green Energy Fair in Co Kilkenny this weekend.

TV environmentalist Duncan Stewart will officially open the event which will host more than 30 trade stands on renewable energy.

Guest speakers will hold workshops on biofuel, biomass, forestry and solar and geo-thermal heating.

Sustainable Energy Ireland will also provide public information on all energy types and how to access government grants.

Teagasc and state information agency Enfo will also be among the exhibitors.

Green Party TDs and councillors are expected to attend the event which takes place today and tomorrow in Gowran Park.
