At least four people were forced to leave their homes in the south-east last night after floods prompted by a day of heavy rain and stormy winds.

At least four people were forced to leave their homes in the south-east last night after floods prompted by a day of heavy rain and stormy winds.

The four were evacuated from houses in the worst hit area of Arklow in Co Wicklow, where rainfall of between 25mm and 40mm was recorded.
