Tourism numbers up

The number of trips to Ireland increased by 50,400 to 928,800 in August from 878,400 in August 2005, the Central Statistics Office said today.

There were 729,500 overseas trips by Irish residents in August 2006 compared with 642,800 in August 2005, an increase of 86,700.
