Brennan planning crackdown on high interest rates

Social Affairs Minister Seamus Brennan has announced plans to introduce legislation to crack down on high interest rates being charged by some lenders.

Mr Brennan said today that it was "totally unacceptable" that rates of up to 39% were being imposed on the less well-off because they are perceived to be at greater risk of defaulting.
