A post mortem has revealed that the Nigerian woman whose body was found in a burning car in Dublin yesterday died from burns and smoke inhalation.

A post mortem has revealed that the Nigerian woman whose body was found in a burning car in Dublin yesterday died from burns and smoke inhalation.

The discovery was made on Hendrick Street in the north inner city by firefighters called to extinguish the blaze in the early hours of yesterday's morning.

The dead woman has not been formally identified, but has been named locally as Abby Williams, a Nigerian woman in her 30s who lived in the area with her young son.

Gardaí say they are officially treating the death as suspicious and are hoping forensic examinations will shed more light on the situation.
