Ahern meets McDowell for payments row talks

Bertie Ahern and Michael McDowell are meeting today to seek a resolution to the financial payments scandal which has dogged the Government for more than two weeks.

The talks are aimed at clearing up issues surrounding cash gifts the Taoiseach accepted from friends and businessman in 1993 and 1994.
