Harney plays down rumours of imminent govt collapse

Former Progressive Democrats leader Mary Harney is playing down speculation that the party may withdraw from Government with Fianna Fáil.

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has also been making conciliatory comments today in an effort to defuse the ongoing controversy surrounding his finances.
