Lorry carrying live chickens overturns in Co. Cavan

A clean up operation was launched in Co. Cavan this afternoon after a 40 foot lorry carrying chickens overturned.

The accident happened at around 12.30pm on the Ballybay to Shercock Road.

Crates of live chickens were strewn on the road and in nearby fields.

The truck had been heading for a chicken processing plant in the town of Shercock.
