Taxi drivers in further airport fee talks
Taxi driver representatives are meeting the Dublin Airport Authority today for further talks over the introduction of a new charge for using the airport.
Under reforms that came into force yesterday, taxi drivers are required to pay a €500 annual fee to the DAA for the right to pick up passengers.
However, the authority has agreed to defer the fee for two weeks to allow for further talks on the matter.
Taxi unions say they will not back down in their opposition to the fee and are vowing to boycott the airport if it is not withdrawn.
