Women's Council seeks measures to address inequality

The National Women’s Council is demanding that the Government do more to address inequality in this December's Budget.

In its pre-Budget submission, the council says it particularly wants measures in the social welfare system to help older women facing poverty after years of parenting the caring.

It says this year's Budget is the Government's last opportunity to fulfil its promises in this area before the next Election.
