Young Limerick car fire victims to undergo emergency surgery
The two young children who suffered serious burns in a suspected arson attack in Limerick at the weekend are due to undergo emergency surgery today.
The four-year-old boy and his six-year-old sister were seriously injured when a fire engulfed their mother's car in the Pineview Gardens area of Moyross on Sunday afternoon.
Both are receiving treatment at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Dublin.
Gardaí say they have yet to determine the cause of the blaze, but reports suggest a petrol bomb may have been involved.
The incident apparently happened after the children's mother refused to give a man a lift into Limerick city centre.
