Forensic examinations underway at site of hotel blaze

Forensic examinations are being carried out today at the scene of a suspected arson attack which gutted an empty hotel in Cork over the weekend.

Forensic examinations are being carried out today at the scene of a suspected arson attack which gutted an empty hotel in Cork over the weekend.

The blaze at the John Barleycorn Hotel, which closed earlier this summer, is believed to have been started deliberately yesterday afternoon.

The fire broke out at around 3pm and was the second at the empty building in the space of just two weeks.
