Book to examine relationship between Holohan and O’Donoghue

A new book on the killing of 11-year-old schoolboy Robert Holohan is set to be published around the same time as the DPP's decision in the appeal against the sentence imposed on Wayne O'Donoghue.

The 22-year-old engineering student from Midleton in Cork is serving four years for Robert's manslaughter.

'Afraid of the Dark' by journalist Ralph Riegel is expected to detail how the Holohan's wanted Wayne to read a prayer of the faithful at Robert's funeral and only dropped the idea on the advice of the Gardaí.

It will also examine the friendship between the two boys, who were neighbours.
