More than 7,000 failed asylum seekers have reportedly gone into hiding or fled Ireland in the last seven years after they were issued with deportation orders.

More than 7,000 failed asylum seekers have reportedly gone into hiding or fled Ireland in the last seven years after they were issued with deportation orders.

Reports this morning say gardaí have been unable to enforce just over half of the almost 14,000 orders issued since 1999 because they cannot find the people facing deportation.
