Gardaí involved in a weekend blitz on drug dealers today arrested another man.

He was detained by officers from Kells, Co Meath, after a follow-up search to raids near Athboy on Saturday.

Cocaine with a street value of more than €300,000, a large amount of stolen goods and ammunition were also said to have been recovered in the latest swoop.

Detectives continue to question another six men arrested in separate operations across Co Meath and Dublin during a 12-hour period on Saturday that netted drugs with a street value in the region of €2.5m.

The men being quizzed by detectives at a number of Garda stations in Louth, Meath and Dublin are all being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, and can be detained for up to seven days.
