The group representing people affected by the 1981 Stardust disaster is reportedly threatening to take the Government before the European courts.

Reports this morning said the Stardust Victims Committee had threatened to take an action under the European Convention on Human Rights if the Government rejects new evidence about the fire.

The evidence is contained in a study by a number of fire experts that was presented to the Government earlier this year.

This morning's reports say the study aims to establish exactly how the victims died and disprove the original finding that the fire was probably caused by arson.
