Relatives of the victims of the 1981 Stardust disaster say they are hopeful the Government will approve a new inquiry into the matter.

The group representing people affected by the 1981 Stardust disaster is reportedly threatening to take the Government before the European courts.

Victims of the 1981 Stardust disaster are planning a protest outside the Taoiseach’s constituency office this weekend to call for a public inquiry, it emerged today.

Advances in science and DNA technology will be used if necessary to shed more light on the 1981 Stardust disaster, the Taoiseach told the Dáil today.
