Opposition preparing for Dáil assault on govt parties

The opposition is preparing to launch its latest assault on the Government tonight when the Dáil begins debating a motion calling for an early general election.

The motion, which has been tabled by Fine Gael the Labour Party, comes after an opinion poll showing a drop in support for the coalition.
