Man airlifted from sea near Tramore
A man is recovering in hospital after he was airlifted from the sea near Tramore in Co Waterford in the early hours of this morning.
The man, who is believed to have fallen from a cliff, was picked up at Newtown Cove by the Sea Rescue Helicopter shortly after midnight.
A spokesman for the Tramore lifeboat station said he had been in the water for around 40 minutes and was in the early stages of hypothermia, but is expected to make a full recovery.
