FG senator to draw up bill on pre-nuptial agreements
A Fine Gael senator has announced plans to introduce a bill that would pave the way for the recognition of pre-nuptial agreements in Ireland.
At present, couples can draw up such agreements, but they have no legal standing and are not recognised in the Irish courts during divorce cases.
Fine Gael's Fergal Browne says the agreements would help bring an end to disputes over the ownership of assets in the event of a marriage break-up.
