Taxi strike to go ahead in Cork and Kerry

Taxi drivers look set to push ahead with their unofficial strike action this evening.

Drivers in Cork and Kerry with the backing of their colleagues in other parts of the country will refuse to work from 10pm tonight to 5am tomorrow.

The conflict is over plans by the Taxi Regulator to introduce a new charging system, which drivers claim will greatly affect their income.
