McDowell planning new age of consent for boys and girls

Minister for Justice Michael McDowell is reportedly planning to introduce a new standard age of consent in response to last week's Supreme Court ruling on statutory rape.

Reports this morning said legislation due to presented to the Cabinet by Mr McDowell tomorrow would set the age of consent at 16 for both girls and boys.
