Prof McAleese to be conferred with Notre Dame degree
President Mary McAleese is to visit the University of Notre Dame today, where she will receive an honourary doctor of laws degree.
The President will give the commencement address at the ceremony.
Notre Dame President Reverend John Jenkins paid tribute to Prof McAleese, describing her as an inspirational role model for women, a champion for peace and a passionate voice within the Catholic Church.
