Exploding transformer causes Wexford blackout

Three thousand homes are without power in Wexford town this afternoon.

The outage happened when a transformer exploded and caught fire on a building site in Mulgannon.

There are no reports of injuries.

ESB repair teams are working to restore supplies but can't say when electricity will be back in the area.
