Drug dealer stabbed to death

A top drug dealer was stabbed to death in Northern Ireland today.

Paddy Fleming, 40, died in hospital after being attacked at a house in Coleraine, Co Derry.

Detectives who launched a murder inquiry have arrested a 25-year-old man.

Fleming, whose illegal wealth brought him under scrutiny from the Assets Recovery Agency, was knifed at Hazelbank Road just after 3.30am.

It is understood the man being held was arrested at another location in the town.

The dead man, married with at least two children, had seen ARA seize control of his luxury five bedroom house.

Horses and an equestrian arena were also taken in December 2004 after the High Court in Belfast was told they had been bought with drug money.

Meanwhile two men were being questioned today by detectives investigating a stabbing in Lisburn.

They were arrested after another man was knifed during an attack in the Bridge Street area of the city.

The victim was taken to hospital following the overnight incident but police said his injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

They have urged any witnesses to contact detectives investigating the stabbing.
